Another project for Coega and Sunday's River Valley

An environmental impact assessment is underway for a 90-hectare citrus development in the Sunday’s River Valley - making it the third such project planned for the area.

Earlier this year, the Department of Economic Development, Environmental Affairs and Tourism issued positive records of decision for two expansion projects in the Sunday's river Valley.

According to figures in a recent presentation by MEC Mcebisi Jonas , citrus exports from the Eastern Cape increased from R22 million in 2001 to R855 million 10 years later.

Meanwhile Air Products South Africa will break ground on its new state-of-the-art air separation units in the Coega Industrial Development Zone outside Port Elizabeth on Wednesday.

The building and installation of equipment in the new facility, the first of its kind in the region, will start in June, with completion and commissioning planned for the third quarter of 2014.

Josua le Roux, General Manager: Central Support of Air Products, is confident thy can deliver stability to regional industry and gas users.
