Port Elizabeth police have seized around 180 kilograms of perlemoen in a joint operation with the Abalone Tactical Task Force and the Department of Agriculture, Forrestry and Fisheries.
The Tactical Task Force's Tom Schwartz says they raided a house in Kamma Park on Sunday, where they discovered the abalone to the value of R180 000.
One person was arrested at the scene, and police confiscated 3 deep freezers and a bakkie.
The suspect will appear in court soon
