Police in Gqeberha are investigating a case of theft after a motorist filled up with petrol and drove off without paying.
This is the third such incident in the last two weeks that has been reported to the police.
Police Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says the latest incident happened shortly before midnight on Monday at a garage in Ikamvelihe.
She says a white Nissan bakkie with false number plates filled his tank with R885 before fleeing the scene.
Just last week police were called out to two similar complaints in Motherwell.
