Public Order policing members in Port Elizabeth are maintaining a strong presence in Walmer Township where residents are protesting after the Municipality began removing illegal electricity cables from a substation earlier on Thursday.
Police are urging motorists to avoid Victoria Drive as well as Heugh Road between 8th and 10th avenues.
There have been no arrests to date.
