Senior ANC officials, including Pres Jacob Zuma, deputy-president Cyril Ramaphosa and secretary-general Gwede Mantashe, arrived in Nelson Mandela Bay on Sunday for internal party meetings.
The Easten Cape co-ordinator of the party's regional task team, Cheeky Makasi told Algoa FM News that Sunday and Monday's meetings followed the disbanding of the ANC's regional executive committee in the Metro in December by party president, Jacob Zuma.
Since the regional executive committee was disbanded by Zuma, former Defence Minister Charles Nqakula led a 31-member team to turn-around the fortunes of the ANC in Nelson Mandela Bay.
