The ANC in the Eastern Cape says it will not allow anarchy and chaos to prevail in Sterkspruit where some residents are threatening not to vote in this year's general election.
Residents, under the banner of a civic organisation, have been campaigning, violently at times, for their own municipality, saying they no longer want to be part of the Senqu Municipality.
Ministers from the Justice Cluster visited Sterkspruit last week which has been identified as a potential hot-spot.
In a statement issued on Sunday, ANC provincial secretary, Oscar Mabuyane, said Government is deploying enough security there and that both soldiers and police will deal decisively with any anarchy.
