A 34 year old man was killed and a bystander wounded in a shooting incident at the Govan Mbeki taxi rank in Port Elizabeth on Sunday afternoon.
Police captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says the man was shot and killed, moments after parking his car in Strand Street near the taxi rank.
She says a VW Golf pulled up and two men got out and started shooting.
The deceased, who may not be named yet, died at the scene.
Van Rensburg says a male bystander was hit by a stray bullet and was taken to Livingstone Hospital in a stable condition.
There have been no arrests and police are investigating the motive behind the murder.
