The ANC in the Eastern Cape says it will only take action against its members implicated in the Nelson Mandela funeral scandal, once all the legal processes have been completed.
The party's regional executive committee said in a statement on Tuesday that it can only observe the matter and all its processes as the investigation continues.
ANC Eastern Cape secretary, Oscar Mabuyane, has reiterated that the ruling party remains committed to clean governance and the fight against corruption.
Buffalo City mayor, Zukiswa Ncitha, several other top officials and some business people have been charged in connection with the scandal.
The Hawks have indicated that other Eastern Cape municipalities, including Nelson Mandela Bay, are also in their sights.
