ANC announces new Premier for Eastern Cape

 ANC deputy secretary general Jesse Duarte has just announced who will lead the ruling party in 8 of the 9 provinces it won in the May 7 general elections.
The Western Cape was won by the Democratic Alliance.

Addressing a Media conference in Johannesburg, Duarte announced Phumulo Masualle as the new Premier of the Eastern Cape.

Duarte also confirmed that Noxolo Kiviet will be the new speaker in the Provincial Legislature.

Kiviet was the previous Premier of the Eastern Cape.
