An ambulance, transporting an injured man, overturned on the N2 near Dutywa in the Eastern Cape on Sunday morning.
The provincial health department says the patient was injured from a previous accident, and sustained more injuries when the ambulance overturned.
Spokesperson, Sizwe Kupelo says the paramedics onboard were also injured.
He says the ambulance was going round a bend when it skidded and overturned.
Kupelo says they suspect the cause of the accident was the condition of the road, as it was raining and the road was slippery and wet.
