The Gqeberha man who allegedly murdered his wife Cheryl, who was a well-known real estate agent, made a brief appearance in the city's magistrates court earlier on Monday.
Colin "Junior" Kannemeyer, 57, was originally due to appear in court on 2 May but was requisitioned to appear before court sooner.
During his appearance on Monday, he was informed of the State's intention to proceed with the case at the Gqeberha High Court.
He will make his first appearance in the High Court on Thursday.
Kannemeyer allegedly killed his wife at the couple's home on Beetlestone Road two days after Christmas.
According to an initial police report, Cheryl sustained multiple stab wounds to her chest and a laceration to her throat.
Her body was found with a rope around her neck while her husband was found in the back of the car with self-inflicted wounds.
During Kannemeyer's previous court appearance on the 3rd of April, he indicated his intention to plead guilty.
Cheryl's murder sent shockwaves through Nelson Mandela Bay.
