Four people, including two children under ten, were killed in an accident between Quzini Village and eQonce, on Monday afternoon.
The Eastern Cape Health Department said a seven-seater vehicle carrying school children was involved in an accident with a bakkie.
Department spokesperson, Sizwe Kupelo, said both drivers and one learner died on the scene.
He said learners, one of whom was in critical condition, were rushed to Gray Hospital.
Kupelo said unfortunately the critically injured learner died in hospital after resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful.
The names of the deceased have not yet been released.
