Port Elizabeth police have arrested five suspects for allegedly stealing livestock from smallholdings on the city's outskirts.
Police spokesperson, captain Johan Rheeder, says they confiscated five sheep as well as a vehicle.
He also says that members of the stock theft unit raided an abbatoir in Swartkops where more than 120 irregularities were detected.
Rheeder says these will be investigated further.
