Two men, aged 18 and 42 are due to appear in the Port Elizabeth magistrate's court on Monday after being arrested late last week for the possession of perlemoen.
The suspects were arrested and 75 kg of abalone valued at R30,000 was seized at a house in Forest Hill in a joint operation between the SAPS and a private security company .
Police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg said police confiscated 691 units of perlemoen was well as two vehicles.
She said a third person was arrested on a charge of defeating the ends of justice for allegedly trying to remove one of the vehicles.
