The case against a Port Elizabeth man, who was charged with the murder of five people in 2008, has been postponed in the city's regional court.
Police said the state intends bringing two additional murder charges against 30-year-old Zamuxolo Hobongwana.
He was on trial for shooting five people dead in a three-day spree in Zwide, in December 2008.
He also faces a charge of rape.
Police spokesperson, warrant officer Thembi Gwe, says the two additional charges relate to alleged murders committed in 2004.
Hobongwana remains in custody until his next court appearance on the 31st of May.
