Alleged Gqeberha house robbers were out on parole and bail

Gqeberha police say two of the suspects believed to have been involved in a Sunrigde Park house robbery case earlier this week were out on parole while a third was out on bail for murder at the time of their arrests.

Keith Skido (31) is out on parole for two firearm-related charges while Lance McCarty (31) is out on parole for a string of offences including robbery, housebreaking and the illegal possession of a firearm.

Police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says the third suspect, Kurt Mila (39) has a case of murder pending against him that dates back to 2009 as well as an assault case.

The suspects face charges of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and possession of suspected stolen property.

Colonel Naidu says they allegedly tied up an entire Sunridge Park family with cable ties before ransacking the house in Stella Londt Drive on Tuesday.

They stole two safes, phones and laptops, jewellery and other household items.

They were later arrested at a house in Nolulamo Street in Joe Slovo, with one of the suspects found hiding in the ceiling.

The men appeared in court on Thursday where the case was remanded to the 14th of July for further investigation.

They remain in custody.
