Six people have been killed in the past 24 hours in four separate accidents on the Province Roads.
Provincial Traffic Spokesperson Charles Bramwell says the driver of a car with seven occupants lost control in Burgersdorp and overturned. The driver who was speeding and allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol died on his way to the hospital. They were travelling to the Mzamomhle Township.
In the second accident, the driver of an ambulance transporting a mother and her baby lost control on the R75 near Wolwefontein.
The mother was critically injured and died before reaching the hospital.
Bramwell says two more people were killed on the R62 between Kareedouw and Joubertina and another two on the notorious R67 between Queenstown and Whittelsea.
