Alleged cop killers in court in Elliotdale

Two policemen and three others accused of killing Elliotdale station commander, Nomalizo Dukumbane, appeared in court on Tuesday.

Police spokesperson, Colonel Mzukisi Fatyela, says the matter was postponed to February 18th for a formal bail application.

The arrested policemen are warrant officer, Phumzile Ngqayimbana and Constable Noxolo Matya, who were both stationed at the Elliotdale police station.

Fifty-three-year-old Dukumbane was shot from behind on the doorstep of her home when she returned from work on December 17th last year.

The motive for her murder has not yet been revealed.
