The South African Human Rights Commission says its monitoring the process of transformation at Collegiate Girls' High School in Gqeberha.
This followed two days of protest by some parents over a reported incident of body-shaming of one of the girls following a school fashion show, post the matric dance.
Parents of learners were locked in a meeting with the school management and the Department of Education, earlier on Friday.
One parent, Sipho Zinto, who spoke to Algoa FM News, referred to the incident as one of body shaming against one of their own, as the learner was told she was dressed inappropriately and that her boobs were "awkward".
The Parent whose daughter is also in Grade 12, said the girl was obviously upset and a group demanded to take part in the show, demanding an apology from the principal.
SA Human Rights Commissioner, Andre' Gaum, says they met with the school on Thursday during an oversight visit to Gqeberha.
He says they offered mediation and will continue to monitor the situation at the school.
