The finalists for the 2019 Liberty Radio Awards have been announced, and Algoa FM has been nominated in four categories.
Daron Mann, who has twice before won the award for ‘breakfast presenter,’ has this year been nominated in the "Best Sport Show" category, for his Saturday morning program.
Wayne Hart received a nomination for "Best Music show" in the Commercial Radio category for his Top 30.
Hart has won this category before and has been nominated in various categories since 2015.
We are also extremely proud to announce that Algoa FM was nominated in the category "Promotions/Stunt Event" for the Youth Day campaign where Grade 11 learners took over the station for an entire day.
Finally, we've been nominated twice in the category "News Bulletin Reader" with Algoa FM's News Editor Shadley Nash, and Online News Editor Doreen Loubser each receiving a nomination. This is only the second time Algoa FM has been nominated in this category.
The CEO of the Liberty Radio Awards Lance Rothschild says the adjudication panel had their work cut out for them with over 1,900 entries which had to be evaluated.
"I’m confident that the adjudication process will ensure that we recognise and honour the best radio work in South Africa over the past year" he said.
The winners will be announced at the Liberty Radio Awards Banquet on the 13th of April at the Sandton Convention Center.
Algoa FM currently holds the title of Station of the Year and the next winner will be announced at the Gala dinner next month.
