Algoa Bus Company promises improved services

Algoa Bus Company says its services will be running at about 75% of capacity in Nelson Mandela Bay on Thursday afternoon.

Operations Manager Willie Geldart says representatives of trade unions Satawu and Tawusa assured them that their members would not strike.

This, after members of a third union, Thor, went on a wildcat strike on Wednesday afternoon after two shop stewards were suspended pending disciplinary action.

As a result, services were disrupted on Wednesday and again during rush hour this morning with Motherwell and New Brighton being particularly badly affected.
