A police officer from the Albertinia Police Station will appear in court on Wednesday on a charge of rape.
The alleged incident took place between two and five o clock this past Monday.
According to the spokesperson for the Independent Police Investigative Directorate, Moses Dlamini, the police officer was off duty during the alleged rape.
Dlamini told Algoa FM News that the 22 year old victim was at a house party when she received a phone call from the police officer. He allegedly told her, that her boyfriend, who is also his cousin, was waiting for her at his house. The woman went to the residence where the suspect and another man were waiting for her.
The policeman was arrested on Tuesday.
The second suspect is still at large.
