George Municipality says its GO GEORGE bus system has doubled its service, with 20 additional buses and five new routes added.
Go George manager, James Robb, says more than 18 000 passengers traveled by bus on the first three days of the introduction of public transport system's third phase.
However, he said replacing an informal method of public transport with a more formal, scheduled public transport system has its own unique challenges as commuters become used to the new service.
Robb says routes and timetable changes are implemented on a daily basis to meet the needs of passengers.
