Agang founder and leader dr Mamphela Ramphele has arrived in Nelson Mandela Bay at the start of a two-day road-show.
She has a soft spot for Port Elizabeth, having done her medical internship many years ago at Livingstone Hospital.
Dr Ramphele enjoyed a breakfast with business leaders and will hold various meetings with other role players during the course of the day.
On Wednesday she'll engage with students at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University.
Ramphele then plans to vist the Metro's township areas.
"We are going to do a walkabout in Silvertown and in Zwide, because everywhere I have been people living in those conditions say they live like forgotten people. Agang is about restoring the hope and dignity of people so that they wont lice like forgotten people"' she said.
