Addo woman behind bars for child abandonment

Addo police have arrested a woman for attempted murder and child abandonment.

Police spokesperson, lieutenant-colonel Priscilla Naidu, says two Addo boys - out to collect wood on the morning of August 8, discovered a new born baby just a few hours old.

Naidu says the child's umbilical cord was still attached.

She says the Addo police station commander arrested the child's mother last week, and she will appear in court on Monday.
