A Port Elizabeth man accused of brutally raping a six-year old girl two years ago continued to deny the charge in the PE High Court on Thursday.
During cross-examination, 33 year-old Xolile Tose told the State that he only saw the girl for three minutes on the day in question.
He was asked why he was then able to give a full description of the clothing she wore on the day of the attack.
The State grilled him further for not answering questions and changing his version of events.
Tose has pleaded not guilty to raping the girl over a 15 hour period.
The attack was so brutal that the child, now eight years old, has to wear a colostomy bag.
