A 63-year-old Eastern Cape man has been arrested for being in possession of dagga and tik valued at nearly R460 000.
Police spokesperson, Sergeant Majola Nkohli, said the man was arrested at Storms River on Friday after police executed a search warrant at a house in the Puntjiesbos area.
"Inside the house police seized 200 kilograms of dagga and 1.7 kilograms of tik (crystal meth) with a street value totalling R458 250," he said.
Sergeant Nkohli also said that police seized R3 404 in cash.
He said the man is due to appear in the Humansdorp Magistrate's Court on Monday on charges of dealing in dagga and crystal meth (tik).
"It is unfortunate to see an elderly person being involved in drugs, and we commend responsible residents who are committed in their efforts to assist police in fighting criminal activities in various policing precincts," said cluster Commander, Brigadier John Lebok.
