5-year old raped in Hofmeyer

Eastern Cape police are investigating a case of rape, after a 5 year old girl was allegedly raped in Hofmeyer on Saturday evening.

Spokesperson, Capt Stefanie Smith says the mother of the child allegedly went outside to use the toilet, and when she returned, she found the suspect busy raping the child in the bedroom.

She says the suspect managed to run away.

Smith says the suspect is known to the police, and an arrest is expected soon.
