The South African National Blood Service, SANBS, celebrates July as Mandela Month and is encouraging the public to use part of their 67 minutes towards donating blood.
The 18th annual Algoa FM Bloodline Day will kick off Mandela Month in the Eastern Cape on Wednesday the 1st of July with the aim of collecting 800 units of blood in a single day.
SANBS aims to collect more than 815 000 units of blood in 2015 and says this can only be achieved with the on-going support of voluntary blood donors.
On the 1st of July - blood drives will take place at from 10:00-18:00 at the following venues:
