East London police have arrested 164 suspects for various crimes during a weekend crime prevention operation.
Captain Stephen Marais says they were arrested for crimes, ranging from possession of drugs, burglary, speeding, shoplifting and robbery, to housebreaking and theft.
He says 19 people were arrested for drunken driving.
All the suspects, aged between 18 and 64, will appear in court on Monday.
