One of the highlights of last weekend’s live-streamed "One World: Together at Home" Global Citizen Concert was undoubtedly the Rolling Stone’s performance of their hit single You’t Can’t Always Get What You Want, off their 1969 album Let it Bleed.
And what do you know, just one week later the iconic group has released a new lockdown inspired song! In Mick’s own words, "So we were in the studio, the Stones recorded some new material before the lockdown and there was one song I thought would resonate with the times we're living in which is called Living In A Ghost Town.
"So, hope you like it."
On the official Stones Twitter page, they wrote: The Rolling Stones have just announced a brand new track ‘Living In A Ghost Town’, recorded in LA and London last year and finished in isolation! Listen now: https://RollingStones.lnk.to/GhostTownSo
The track, written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards was released today to stream and download. The music video on their official YouTube channel sees circular cameras go racing through deserted cities around the world with previously shot footage of the band featuring as well.
Take a look and listen right here. It gets a thumbs up from us!
The group made up of - Mick, Keith Richards, 76, Charlie Watts, 78, and Ronnie Wood, 72, were due to kick off their North America tour in San Diego on 8 May and finish in Atlanta on 9 July. This has of course now been cancelled due to the global pandemic.
