The Daily Show and it’s Host Trevor Noah have pleaded with followers and fans to help those that are most affected by COVID-19 and they have managed to raise funds close to R9.5 million.
Trevor has been encouraging people to donate wherever they can to help people who are in desperate needs of funding. It hasn’t been possible to donate in South Africa but it has been revealed that The Daily Show has raised about R9.5 million for charities.
Some of these charities include the New York City Mayor’s Fund for First Responders, feeding projects and child care.
The South African comedian had to put his upcoming “Loud and Clear” comedy tour on hold in an effort to curve the spread of the corona virus.
He took to his social media and said that in support of the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) effort to inform and help individual communities slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus, He will be postponing all tour dates for the next month.
He added that all postponed date will rescheduled and new show info will be posted on his website as it comes in.
Trevor has thanked fans/supporters on the daily show a couple of times for their donations towards the fight against COVID-19.
