Prince Harry took to social media to virtually thank the Diana Award honorees ahead of Thursday’s unveiling of the Princess Diana statue.
Harry, who has come under much criticism of late from the British public, said in the clip that his late mother, Princess Diana, would be “so proud” of them and their dedication to humanitarian work and community action.
The Duke of Sussex met with the young people set to receive the Diana Award via video call, he told them that he was sure his mother would have loved to see the youngsters “living an authentic life”.
The Duke of Cambridge and his brother Prince Harry will officially unveil the monument at Kensington Palace's Sunken Garden on Thursday. The statue has arrived at Kensington Palace ahead of its official unveiling and is now securely secured on the grounds. The special event will take place to commemorate the late Princess of Wales in honor of what would have been her 60th birthday.
Prince William and Prince Harry will both be in attendance in their first joint appearance since the Duke of Edinburgh's funeral in April.
Harry has flown to London from California but will not be joined by his wife Meghan as she remains at their Santa Barbara home with their newborn, daughter Lilibet Diana, and two-year-old Archie.
Harry has been self-isolating at Sussexes' UK residence, Frogmore Cottage, where his cousin, Princess Eugenie, now lives with her husband Jack Brooksbank and their baby son August.
