WATCH:  Death threat texts allegedly sent by Johnny Depp to Amber Heard read out in court

In November 2013, Johnny Depp allegedly sent a text to fellow actor Paul Bettany saying: “Let’s burn Amber.” That same day, he allegedly sent another text to Bettany saying: “Let’s drown her before we burn her!!! I will f–k her burnt corpse afterwards to make sure she is dead.”

The texts were read out during Depp’s libel action against the Sun newspaper after it published an article in 2018 in which it claimed Depp assaulted Heard.

The texts have been presented as part of the publication's case that Depp was abusive towards Heard, which Depp denies. They centre on Heard’s claim that Depp abused her on a private plane flight in May 2014.
