Fifty-Eight-year-old actor Joe Lara - best known for starring in the TV series Tarzan: The Epic Adventures - has been killed in a plane crash in Tennessee.
The star was one of seven people who lost their lives when their jet crashed into a lake near the town of Smyrna. Lara was travelling with his wife, who also perished when the private jet, said to be a Cessna 501, crashed not long after takeoff, into the Percy Priest Lake. It was said to have been headed toward Palm Beach from Smyrna, just outside of Nashville.
Fire and other rescue crews were dispatched to the scene but, after an all-night operation, all the passengers were reported to have died. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fatal crash.
Lara and Gwen, a diet guru, have left behind three children.
