Sharon Osbourne tests positive

Sharon Osbourne

The  British-American television personality, entertainment manager, and author has shared the news that she has tested positive for the virus.

After a brief stay in the hospital, the reality star says that she is now recovering at home but is self-isolating far away from her 72-year-old husband Ozzy Osbourne. Ozzy was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease last year which, in addition to his age, puts him a high-risk category should he contract the virus.

Sharon told her 2.3m followers on Twitter: "I wanted to share I've tested positive for COVID-19. After a brief hospitalization, I'm now recuperating at a location away from Ozzy (who has tested negative) while "The Talk" is on scheduled hiatus. Everyone, please stay safe and healthy."

The multi-media personality currently hosts the US chat show The Talk, she is the second host from the show to contract the virus after presenter and dancer Carrie Ann Inaba announced she had tested positive just a few days ago.

Sharon is married to heavy metal singer-songwriter Ozzy Osbourne and came to prominence after appearing on The Osbournes, a reality television show that aired on MTV, which followed her family's daily life.
