The multi-award-winning superstar, Lady Gaga, has landed in Washington, D.C. ahead of today’s inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden in what will no doubt be one of the most-watched events in American political history.
34-year-old Gaga, an avid Biden supporter, is set to perform the American National Anthem at the auspicious occasion.
As the final countdown began, Gaga took to Instagram to ask for calm saying,” I pray tomorrow will be a day of peace for all Americans. A day for love, not hatred. A day for acceptance not fear. A day for dreaming of our future joy as a country. A dream that is non-violent, a dream that provides safety for our souls. Love, from the Capitol

Lady Gaga is well known for her philanthropic work - in 2012 she founded the Born This Way Foundation, a non-profit that focuses on empowering youth, improving mental health, and preventing bullying. In 2019, she launched Haus Laboratories, a vegan cosmetics brand.
And just this month, January 2021, she was recognised for her work in the Black Lives Matter movement, receiving the Yolanda Denise King High Ground Award from the King’s Centre Beloved Community. In her acceptance speech, Gaga denounced racism and white supremacy and addressed her social responsibility as a high-profile artist and white woman.
