The American singer, songwriter, actress, and activist celebrates her 70th today the 22nd of June following the world premiere of a documentary on her life, Let the Canary Sing at the prestigious Tribeca Film Festival.
Alison Ellwood’s documentary is said to take the audience on an exploration of the life and career of the legendary pop icon and is narrated by the inimitable Lauper herself.
The movie had its World Premiere at the Beacon Theatre on June 14 in New York City and included a live performance by the hitmaker following the screening.
