Could chewing gum be the way out of the COVID pandemic?

Scientists claim to have created a gum that they say contains a plant-grown protein that traps the COVID-19 virus inside saliva, thereby slowing person-to-person transmission as well as cell-to-cell transmission.

The gum was developed by Dr. Henry Daniell of the Penn School of Dental Medicine with assistance from other scientists at Penn Med, a private research university in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Preparations are now underway to launch the first human trial in what they hope could be a cheap and easy way to fight Covid-19.
