Vermeiren’s male pattern baldness is a thing of the past, the TV personality revealed in an Instagram post Monday that he has undergone a "painless" hair transplant and is thrilled with the results.
Male baldness has a common genetic cause with hair loss typically occurring on the top and front of the head. Thanks to exceptional aesthetic advances gone are the days of the toupee! ( those small hairpieces that were designed to cover bald spots at the top and back of the head)
In his post, Vermeiren said: 'I finally did it! A huge thank you to @dr_k_kalan and his incredible team at @alviarmani_southafrica for such a smooth and professional procedure! I honestly don’t know why I waited so long! I’ve been talking for ages about getting a hair transplant but never had the courage to see it through. If you suffer from male pattern baldness, don’t let it keep you down. The hair procedure is called FUE, whereby they harvest individual follicles from the back of your head(donor area) and move them to where the hair is thinner. It was a painless experience and I was smiling from ear to ear the moment I left the clinic. I can’t wait to show you the full results in couple of months! I will do a full vlog at a later stage, taking you through each step of the process, but in the interim don’t be shy to ask questions."

PS: Elton John is another celebrity who has been more than open about his battle with baldness. Unfortunately for Elton, his hair transplant attempts were not successful and he took to wearing a wig decades ago.
