Avengers: Endgame has made box office history by raking in a record-breaking $1.2 Billion (R17 billion rand) across the globe in its opening weekend. It is the fastest film ever to smash the $1bn barrier - taking just five days.
Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn said on Sky News: "Though Endgame is far from an end for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, these first 22 films constitute a sprawling achievement, and this weekend's monumental success is a testament to the world they've envisioned, the talent involved, and their collective passion, matched by the irrepressible enthusiasm of fans around the world."
The year looks like a good one for Disney as they are set to release The Lion King and Toy Story 4 in the coming months.
