Best actress winner Michelle Yeoh (Source : Twitter)

The multiverse sci-fi comedy took home seven awards, with nods for leading lady Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan, and Jamie Lee Curtis as well as the directing gong for Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert.

The film is a sci-fi action-comedy that follows a retired woman named Eva (played by Michelle Yeoh), who discovers that she has the ability to travel through parallel universes. As she navigates this newfound power, she must also confront a looming threat that could destroy all of existence.

Kwan and Scheinert have a unique filmmaking style that blends surrealism, humor, and emotional depth. They are best known for their work on the 2016 film "Swiss Army Man," which stars Daniel Radcliffe as a farting corpse that befriends a stranded man (played by Paul Dano). The film was divisive among audiences, but it showcased the duo's ability to create a wholly original and unforgettable cinematic experience.

Everything Everywhere All At Once took home the best picture, director, original screenplay, lead actress, supporting actress, supporting actor, and best editing.

Yeoh's best actress win makes her the first Asian woman to win the award in 94 years of the premier awards event.  Addressing the audience, the 60-year-old said: ”Ladies, never let anyone tell you you are past your prime."

She beat off competition from two-time Oscar winner Cate Blanchett, Ana De Armas, Andrea Riseborough, and Michelle Williams to take home the coveted statue.
