President Jacob Zuma has authorised the employment of 400 soldiers to the Central African Republic.
They will be employed by the C.A.R. until the end of March 2018.
The soldiers will render support in fulfillment of an international obligation of South Africa towards the Central African Republic.
They will assist with the capacity building of the CAR defense force as one of the efforts to bring about peace and stability in the region.
At least 200 South African soldiers arrived in the capital Bangui on Sunday.
