A driver drowned when his truck plunged into the harbour in Durban on Sunday afternoon.
An NSRI duty crew was activated by the Transnet National Ports Authority following reports of a container truck plunging into the harbour at the Port of Durban 'B-Shed'.
Paramedics confirmed the driver, a local man in his mid 20s, dead at the scene.
The cause of the accident is not known but it would appear that the driver lost control of the vehicle when it smashed into the side of ship before sinking to the bottom of the harbour.
