A young boy and his aunt have died after falling into a maize silo in Standerton, Mpumalanga.
Police are investigating the circumstances that lead to the deaths of the 12-year-old boy and the 33-year-old woman.
The incident happened on Friday evening when the boy fell into the silo filled with maize and while his aunt, Jackie Rautenbach tried to pull him out she slipped and also fell in.
Her husband, who was a few meters away, heard loud screams for help but was too late to save their lives.
Provincial police spokesperson Selvy Mohalala says no foul play is suspected at this stage.
