At least 70 injured in pile-up on N1 near Pretoria

At least 70 people were injured in a multi-vehicle collision on the N1 near Garsfontein in Pretoria on Saturday evening.

Emer-G-Med spokesperson Kyle van Rheenen says an ambulance, a bus, and a truck were among at least 12 vehicles involved.

One person had to be airlifted to a nearby health facility.

The remaining patients were treated at the scene and transported by ambulance to various hospitals.

The cause of the pile-up is unknown.
