Fourteen men were jailed for an effective 255 years in the Western Cape High Court for the 2014 murder of six young men in Kraaifontein.
The National Prosecuting Authority says this was a sequel to the kidnapping and killing of the six, who were accused of robbing and killing an Eastern Cape security guard working in the Western Cape.
Spokesperson, Eric Ntabazalila, says the group was convicted on several counts of kidnapping, conspiracy to commit murder and murder.
He says they were sentenced on Wednesday to a total of 1 840 years, but these will run concurrently.
The apparent ring-leader, Tsepo Mathabela, was sentenced to 180 years imprisonment but the court, ordered his sentences to run concurrently effectively sentencing him to 25 years imprisonment.
