Two people including a two year-old girl were killed, while six others including a three year-old boy, were left injured following a shooting at Nkanyezini in Cato Ridge, KwaZulu Natal on Tuesday.
ER24 paramedics spokesperson Russel Meiring said the body of the toddler was found inside a vehicle on Tuesday afternoon along with that of a man who had also passed away.
The two had sustained numerous gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead on the scene.
Meiring said the three year-old boy who had been critically injured in the incident was airlifted to hospital while five other passengers were transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
It is believed that all the victims were travelling together in the silver Toyota Fortuner.
Meiring said the details surrounding the incident were not yet known as local authorities were still processing the crime-scene.
