Police in Gauteng shot and killed a suspect following a shoot-out on the R21 highway in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Spokesperson Captain Mavela Masondo says they also arrested four of his accomplices and confiscated two pistols.
He says they have been looking for these suspects for quite some time as they are accused of stealing motorbikes, boats and caravans in the province.
Police received information that the "gang" was on their way to steal a motorbike in Pretoria.
Masondo says police followed the suspects towards Kempton Park and on the R21 highway they noticed police and started shooting.
Police returned fire and fatally shot one suspect, wounded another and arrested three more.
There is one more suspect who is still at large.
