Two suspects wanted in a cash-in-transit case in Vryheid, KZN were arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning, following an intelligence-driven operation in Gauteng.
Hawks spokesperson, Colonel Katlego Mogale says a suspect was traced to a car wash in Johannesburg, where he was arrested.
She says further intelligence led the team to Katlehong, where a second suspect was arrested at a petrol station along the N3.
Police seized two unlicensed AK 47 rifles and ammunition.
Mogale says the team then followed up further information and searched a house in Vosloorus where an AK 47 rifle, a R5 rifle, ammunition, bulletproof vests and a signal jamming device were recovered.
The two suspects, aged 37 and 39, will appear in court on Wednesday.
